Gravissimum educationis

Deus caritas est (Latin: God is love) is the first encyclical written by Pope Benedict XVI, and deals with the theme of Christian love.

It was promulgated on Wednesday, December 25, 2005 in eight languages ​​(Latin, Spanish, English, French, German, Italian, Polish and Portuguese). This encyclical deals with the concepts of eros (human love), agape (unconditional love), logos λογος (the word), and their relationship to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
